NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer is not sure that the international community would be able to stop Iran from developing a nuclear bomb. Speaking at a conference in France dedicated to international policy issues, the NATO Secretary Generalexpressed his concern that UN Security Council sanctions would fail to interfere with Iran's plans. The head of the Alliance also noted that in such conditions, neighbouring Israel has no reason to give up his own nuclear capability.
