Russia to Freeze Iran Missile Deal / 10.06.2010 

Russia will freeze a contract to sell S-300 missile systems to Iran after the United Nations Security Council imposed a fourth round of sanctions on the Islamic Republic, Interfax news agency reported.

A meeting of the Working Group of the International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe was held in Vienna on April 8 -9 in advance of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington and the 2010 NPT Review Conference. The meeting focused on the most acute issues of international security, including prospects for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament and the controversy over the Iranian and Korean nuclear programmes.

Council members unanimously adopted US-sponsored resolution 1887 (2009), in which the IAEA's role in addressing nuclear threats and non-compliance with nuclear treaties was strongly reaffirmed.
